In my work at UCI Continuing Education, my team and I often found the need to preemptively create graphics to save ourselves time down the line. As a result, I started getting into lower thirds, particularly Motion Graphics Template (mogrt) files. I wanted to hand these off to our videographers and make it so they’d never have to open up After Effects.

Through this process, I became intimately familiar with After Effects expressions like sourceRectAtTime(), and how to use them to automatically style different elements based on a few simple commands. My background in coding certainly helped here.

While not all of the graphics below are fully templatized, a few are, with I’m sure many more to be added in the future.

Thanks for visiting. Seriously.
