This year, UCI Continuing Education ushered in a new form of digital credentialing, which they dubbed Alternative Digital Credentials (ADCs). Also known as Digital Badges. So, when it came time to explaining to the general public what Digital Badges were, the department needed a brief, intuitive instructional video.

For this project, I was essentially handed a script and asked to run with it. I used that script to coach one of my co-workers through a voiceover, then began storyboarding out how exactly I wanted the animations to work. I then created all of the assets in the video from scratch in Illustrator, save for the badges themselves, which were already created.

From there, it was just a matter of throwing the Illustrator graphics into After Effects and animating them accordingly. I think it came out pretty well!

Thanks for visiting. Seriously.
