Santander Ward – LEC Promotion

How could I pass up a chance to do work for a worldwide eSports organization? Reset Marketing reached out to me to gauge interest in creating a promotional piece for LEC sponsor Santander, for their upcoming championship split. What a cool opportunity!

The brief for this project asked that I center the piece around the Nightbringer Ward, to make it seem like a source of great protection and allure. The only other request was to include Santander-branded elements in the background, hence the torch and glyph on the rock.

The most challenging part of this piece was, ironically, the ward itself, which for some reason broke my brain in terms of its perspective. I ended up having to create it in 3D using Maya, then painting over the render. Guess all’s well that ends well!
